Silk

Silk sutures are non-absorbable, sterile surgical sutures made from natural silk fibers obtained from silkworms, often braided and coated for strength and smooth tissue passage. They are used in general, cardiovascular, ophthalmic, gastrointestinal, and orthopedic surgeries due to their good knot security and moderate tissue reaction.
